We will join a wonderful\, colourful walking group to showcase our s pirit and celebrate equality\, inclusion\, and community in the heart of L eeds. Creative outfits and fancy dress are highly encouraged—the more co lourful\, the better! Please make sure you can see clearly in your costume and are comfortable walking the entire route.\n\n \nProps: Bring your ow n whistles\, flags\, and bright banners to wave!\n\n \nTravel light: Plea se carry as little as possible. If you want to enter the main event site o n Lower Briggate after the parade\, all bags will be checked by security\, which will cause delays.\n\n \nNote: Wristbands are being collected by t he group leader and will be handed out\; they aren't compulsory for the pa rade itself but will help speed up access to the Lower Briggate event site at the end if you choose to go in).\n\n \nProhibited Items: For crowd sa fety\, items like fireworks\, flares\, smoke flares\, glitter guns\, and s parklers are strictly banned by the organisers.\n\n \nIs it structured? Y es\, this is a structured parade overseen by official stewards. The parade moves continuously once it starts\, and there must be no more than a 5m d istance left between participating groups to keep everyone safe. It will b e a busy\, high-energy\, and noisy event\, so please keep this in mind whe n considering if it is appropriate for your family.\n\n \nTime: All walke rs in our organisation must be in place by 11:45am. Please do not be late\ , as we need to be arranged into our final order. The parade officially le aves at 12:30pm.\n\n \nWhere to find us: We are in Group 1\, Position 1.1 3! Group 1 is assembling on Calverley Street\, right on the road between t he Town Hall and the Leeds Art Gallery. Please check local bus routes and train schedules ahead of time to ensure you arrive at Calverley Street by 11:45am.\n\n \nKeep close: During the march\, the organisers require us to keep no more than a 5-metre distance from the group in front of us to keep the parade safe and moving smoothly. \n\n \nParade Finish: If you don't wish to enter the busy Lower Briggate event space at the end\, there will be clear routes and smart signs on the day showing you how to exit the city centre easily.\n\n \nVenue Website: For general event updates\, you can visit the official organisers at Leed s Pride.\n\n \nParking &\; Drop-Off: There are various city centre car parks available\, but please be aware of extensive event-day road closure s and travel delays. Plan your journey to arrive well before the 11:45am a ssembly cutoff.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n🚶 Moving Around\n\n \nSpace: This is en tirely an outdoor street event traversing city pavements and roads. The de signated parade route is fully accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs. At the end of the route\, options will be provided to easily exit the city centre without needing to enter the crowded main event space on Lower Bri ggate.\n\n \nSeating: There is no seating along the parade route as we wi ll be on the move. We recommend bringing a lightweight\, portable folding chair if anyone in your family needs to sit during the assembly period bef ore 12:30pm.\n\n \nPaths &\; Ground: The entirety of the parade route takes place on paved city centre roads and pedestrian zones.\n\n \nHazard s to Note: Major city crowds\, loud noises\, moving parade vehicles\, and standard street furniture. Please keep children close by at all times. All participants must adhere to strict guidelines outlined in the Leeds Pride 2026 Parade Guidance Sheet which will be shared with participants before the event.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n🚽 Toilets &\; Changing Facilities\n\n Sta ndard Accessible Toilet: Accessible city centre toilets\, local business f acilities\, and shopping centre amenities are located near the route\, tho ugh queues may be long.\n Changing Places Toilet: The nearest permanent C hanging Places venues are available within Leeds City Centre (such as Leed s Kirkgate Market or the Trinity Leeds shopping centre). You can check loc ations on the Changing Places Toilets Map.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n🎧 Sensory &\ ; Calm Spaces\n\n As this is a massive\, open-air public street parade wi th crowds\, music\, and sirens\, it will be highly stimulating. We cannot guarantee an official quiet or calm space along the route.
