 An introduction to suicide prevention skills
DESCRIPTION:Booking closes 22nd June\n\nWe recognise that suicidal thoughts
  are prevalent among young people\, particularly those with additional nee
 ds. Research indicates that approximately 20% of teens and young people ha
 ve seriously considered suicide\, with higher rates among those with disab
 ilities and mental health conditions\n\n. Our course aims to provide suppo
 rt and resources to help parent/carers address these challenges effectivel
 y.\n\nThe key objectives are\n\n 	To consider the attitudes\, myths\, and 
 stigma that surround suicide\n 	To recognise and explore the ‘signs’ t
 hat may indicate someone is having thoughts of suicide\n 	To encourage an 
 open\, safe and sensitive conversation about suicide with a person having 
 thoughts of suicide\n 	To support a safety plan with someone thinking of s
 uicide\n\n\n\n\nThis is an online course for parent/carers only. This cour
 se is not suitable for professionals. We want to keep and ensure a safe sp
 ace for parent/carers to talk freely. \n\nI will email the zoom details o
 ne week before. Please check spam.\n\nThe course will run 9.30am-1pm\n\nWe
