For this event, we are charging the full price of £25 BUT will refund £15 for attendees on the next working day after the event. So you will be getting a great company and a great night with food out for £10.

We will not be able to refund non-attendees unless the venue gives us a refund!

Sunken Studio is a production pottery and coworking ceramics studio in South Bank Leeds. It make pots and hosts pottery making courses.

We will be learning how to use bench-based handbuilding techniques to make pots without a potter’s wheel. Course content changes and what we’ll be making is a surprise! Fancy taking your chances?

Prerequisites: none

Includes: All materials, and firing one pot per person. We provide you with clean aprons and all tools and equipment.

We’re also planning on taking some food in for us all. To be confirmed, but most likely pizzas from Costco! So please do let us know any dietary requirements. The venue provides tea and coffee.

Additional Considerations

In advance of your visit please:

Trim fingernails. Long fingernails are problematic and will damage everything you make.
Wear warm clothes and layer-up. The studio is a large space and does get cold.
Wear shoes with covered toes. Please protect your toes.

Getting there

The studio is a single story building with a bright yellow door and dark grey window frames. Theu are next door to Duke Makes.

Accessibility/Parking

Access is at street level. There is one 12cm step leading into the building. The studio is on one level, the floor is a little uneven in places but they cover the lumps with tables.
There is one toilet with a standard opening.
There are managed car parks nearby. On street parking is limited – please allow plenty of time. The studio is a 10 minute walk from the City Centre, easily accessed by public transport & you can get the water taxi from Leeds Train Station to Leeds Dock. The studio is a short walk from Leeds Dock, Sheaf St. (Duke Studios), The Tetley & The Royal Armouries. Please allow plenty of time for parking. Weekdays are much busier and on-street parking is competitive.
There are a few spaces available directly outside the building. If you require a space for a blue badge holder, please let us know as they can ensure two spaces are available.
