Speaker: Helen Buzdugan

Description
Helen will share practical, actionable advice on finding flexible work that fits your family’s unique needs, including:

  • Your flexibility rights in your current job (if you’re working now)
  • Finding a new flexible role that fits your family’s circumstances
  • Examples of flexible jobs and creative solutions that have worked for other parents
  • Employment vs self-employment
  • Where to access further information and support

Who is it for?
This workshop is designed for parents and carers in neurodivergent or SEN families who:

  • Are hanging onto their current job by a thread because family life has become so demanding, or
  • Have already given up work because juggling everything became unsustainable
  • Can’t afford to not work (they need an income to support their family)
  • Feel stuck and unsure where to start in finding flexible work that will actually work for their family life

This is an online course for parent/carers only. This course is not suitable for professionals. We want to keep and ensure a safe space for parent/carers to talk freely.

The session will be 45 minutes long with time for Q&A afterwards

I will email the zoom details one week before. Please check spam.

The course will run 11am-12.30pm

We apologise – but these courses are not suitable for children.

Please do let us know if you have an access requirements.

About Helen Buzdugan
Helen helps parents and carers in neurodivergent and SEN families find flexible, family-friendly work when life is complicated. She is a qualified careers adviser with over 20 years’ experience supporting adults and young people in education and private practice. Helen is a Registered Career Development Professional (RCDP) with the Career Development Institute and holds a Master’s degree in Careers Education, Information, Advice, and Guidance from the University of Warwick.

Helen is also a late-diagnosed ADHD parent raising two children – a 10-year-old autistic PDAer, and a 13-year-old who is just starting the assessment pathway. Like many parents, she is actively navigating the challenges of the UK’s education and SEND systems to advocate for her children’s needs.

Helen also has a free guide, ‘Finding Flexible Work’, written especially for parents and carers in neurodivergent and SEN families with complicated home lives: https://bit.ly/FlexibleWorkGuide.
