📝 About the Course
- What we will be learning: How shifting our language from directing to declarative language (statements that share, wonder, and invite) can be a simple but transformative tool in everyday life. We will look at how it supports young people in building autonomy, interoception, and confidence, using practical, everyday scenarios like getting ready for school, play, and self-care to reduce communication stress and encourage their agency.
- Course Structure: A structured, collaborative online workshop running from 10:00am – 12:00pm. The session will explore examples and reflections to help communication feel less stressful and more collaborative.
- Who it’s for: Strictly for parents and carers of children with additional needs or disabilities. These workshops are fully funded by the Leeds Parent Carer Forum, making this identity-affirming support available to our families at no cost. Please note that this session is not suitable for children and no childcare is available. Grab a cuppa, get comfortable on the sofa, and join us from home!
- Date & Time: 7:00pm – 9:00pm. Bookings close exactly one week before the event to allow for course planning.

If you can no longer make it, please cancel your places by emailing events@littlehiccups.co.uk so we can reallocate the spots and prevent charity funds from being lost.
