📝 About the Session
- What we will be doing: Toileting can be complex for many neurodivergent young people and their families. When things feel stuck, it can be difficult to know what is getting in the way or where to begin. In this webinar, we’ll look at toileting through a different lens, exploring the factors that can make toileting difficult, including interoception, sensory experiences, physiology, constipation, communication, safety and autonomy. We’ll also consider withholding and how physical and emotional experiences can become intertwined. We’ll explore how to approach toileting with curiosity rather than pressure, and practical ways to make toileting more manageable and accessible across different environments.
- What to expect (The Vibe): An interactive, collaborative workshop format designed to give explore toileting and what needs to be considered and practical tools to support both your child and yourself. The course runs from 10:00am – 12:00pm, followed by lunch and dedicated time for your questions. Each in-person course has a maximum of 15 attendees.
- Who it’s for: This session is for parents and carers of neurodivergent young people at any stage of their toileting journey.. We apologise, but these courses are not suitable for children and there is no childcare available. This is a chance for you to learn practical tools, build family relationships, and chat with people who get it!
- Date & Time: 10:00am – 12:00pm (Plus lunch and questions afterwards)
