What a spectacular day we had! Following the brilliant success of our scarecrow build, Little Hiccups was invited back to the stunning Harewood House for a very special collaboration. This time, we weren’t building straw men—we were becoming florists for the day!
Crafting a Masterpiece (With a Little Help!)
We gathered in the workshop suite for a beautifully calm, mindfulness paper flower-craft session. It was wonderful to see our families slowing down and getting creative. These weren’t just any flowers, though; our individual creations are being joined together to form one massive, spectacular garland.
We did have a bit of a surprise guest in the craft room! Hiccups the Bear must have been very busy elsewhere (perhaps he was off having a snooze in the spring sunshine?), but he didn’t quite make it to the workshop. Thankfully, a very special friend stepped in to save the day—the Gruffalo himself made an appearance and rolled up his sleeves to help us with our paper flowers!
If you visit Harewood during the Harewood in Bloom weekend (2nd – 4th May), look up! Our garland will be hanging proudly over the fireplace in the Main Library, complete with a dedicated sign celebrating our amazing Little Hiccups families.
Easter Trails and Lakeside Tales
Once the glue had dried and the petals were perfect, the rest of Harewood House was ours to explore. Our families took on the Easter Egg Trail, hunting through the gardens to solve the ultimate mystery: Who stole the golden egg? It was a fantastic way to get everyone moving and exploring the hidden corners of the estate.
Playtime
No trip to Harewood is complete without a visit to the Playscape. The children had a brilliant time burning off energy on the swings and climbing frames while the grown-ups caught a breath of fresh air.
See Our Work in Person!
Don’t forget to head to Harewood House in early May to see the final display. It’s a proud moment for our charity to be part of such a prestigious exhibition.

A huge thank you to the team at Harewood House for hosting us so warmly and for letting Little Hiccups add a little extra colour to the Great Library!
