📝 About the Course

• What we will be learning: Caring for a child with additional needs often brings hidden costs, higher utility bills, and specialised equipment expenses, combined with reduced earning capacity for parent carers.

Carer Pensions & Long-Term Personal Security: How parent carers who take reduced hours or career breaks can protect their own retirement savings and National Insurance credits.

Budgeting with Direct Payments & Personal Budgets: Practical management of local authority funding, separate account setups, and avoiding cross-mingling with personal funds.

Insurance & Safety Nets: Critical illness cover, income protection, and life cover considerations specifically structured around having a dependent who may never live independently.

• Course Structure: A 45-minute presentation followed by an optional 15-minute Q&A.
• Who it’s for: Strictly for parents and carers of children with additional needs or disabilities. Grab a cuppa, get comfortable on the sofa, and join us from home!
• Date & Time: Tuesday 27th April 2027 – 10am to 11am.

• Who is running the session: Emile Murray from EMJ Wealth Consultancy
• Their Expertise: has been running his independent practice since March 2025. He is passionate about helping families who feel lost in the system create a clear, positive plan for the future. His practice is a partner practice of St. James’s Place Wealth Management. He believes that money should be a tool to help you do the things you truly care about.

🖥️ Tech Setup & Joining Instructions

• Platform: Google Meet (Can be accessed via a smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer).
• 🔑 Accessing the Session: Please note that your login details and link will be emailed to you exactly one week before the course starts. If you book less than a week before, they will be sent out within 24 hours of booking.
• Digital Accessibility: Live automated captions can be turned on during the session. Please email us to discuss any further needs.

☕ The Atmosphere (No Pressure!)

• Camera Policy: Completely up to you! We love to see your faces, but if your child needs you, or you just prefer to keep your camera turned off, that is absolutely fine.
• Microphone & Chat Box: Everyone will be muted during the main presentation to keep background noise down, but you can type questions into the chat box at any time.
• Will it be recorded? No, to keep this a completely private and safe space for parents to share, this session will not be recorded.
