The Circus Starr Sensory Story goes indoors!
At Circus Starr we know just how important preparation can be!
For many of our audience members it can be quite daunting to experience something new or different from their usual routine.
Circus Starr are always exploring ways that we can help families attend our shows, and improve our accessibility and inclusivity.
We partnered with sensory specialist, Joanna Grace, to create The Circus Starr Sensory for our Big Top show with the aim of improving our sensory accessibility.
The story goes through the sensory changes you can experience on the run-up to our performance, and is aimed at those who have profound and multiple learning difficulties. It has also proven useful for some children who have autism.
Along with the story, we created a pack that contained supporting resources for the storytelling. This was to make the process as easy as possible for those who may have never used a sensory story before, and thanks to our generous supporters, we were able to offer the packs for free.
After receiving such positive feedback, with 100% reporting that the pack was beneficial, we knew just how important it was that we were able to provide this support for our indoor shows.
So, we again worked with Joanna Grace to adapt our story to help people prepare for our shows that would take place inside.
We are thrilled to say we are now offering free sensory packs for our indoor shows!
If you think that a sensory pack would help you prepare for our magical show you can apply for a FREE pack here.
If you would like to help a child prepare for our show with a pack you can donate now! (To Circus Starr – not Little Hiccups). Each pack costs £5 to produce and post.
If you do miss out on the Little Hiccups tickets you can apply for some here:
