February 4th is Time To Talk Day and Little Hiccups acknowledged the day with a Virtual Meet with some of the Little Hiccups team and one of our Counsellors, Diane Whitehead. It didn’t quite go as planned however this time, so we are running it again the following week on Thurs 11th Feb at 1.30pm. Everyone is invited to join.
Time to Talk Day is about ending the stigma around mental health and encouraging people to talk. We know that the more conversations we have, the more myths we can bust and barriers we can break down, helping to end the isolation, shame and worthlessness that too many of us with mental health problems are made to feel. We also know that this year has been ridiculously hard on everyone, but for families like yourselves that are now homeschooling and keeping safe children with additional needs as well as continuing all the other day to day tasks that need to be done, the stresses and strains are increased.
This event is not about adding more pressure to you. We understand that you may have your children at home, and that you may have to dip in and out. The last thing we want to do is add to your stress! What we are hoping is that you can meet and chat with other families, chat casually to Diane, who will be leading the session and maybe just carve a little bit of the day out for you. We’re looking at maybe some activities that we can do that will help the session along as it can be quite tricky to open up straight away! But whatever we do, you only have to join in if you are comfortable to do so.
We’re asking people to sign up so we can monitor numbers.
It’s free so sign up below (you need to be registered with Little Hiccups to sign up) and I’ll send you the code to access the event once you have signed up.
Hopefully see you there!
