This summer, Little Hiccups turned up the volume on fun with three fabulous musical theatre workshops at Brigshaw School—and wow, did the kids shine!
Led by the amazing Kathleen (choreographer, dance therapist, and all-round superstar), each session was packed with movement, music, and magical moments. Whether kids were seasoned performers or just curious to give it a go, everyone was welcome—and everyone had a blast!
🌟 Our Musical Line-Up:
- Moana (30th July): A wave-riding, adventure-filled dance journey
- Frozen (20th August): Let It Go with expressive movement and icy sparkle
- The Lion King (27th August): Roar into rhythm with jungle beats and bold moves
Each workshop was inspired by a much-loved children’s musical or film, and gave kids the chance to:
- Try out singing, dancing, and acting
- Build confidence in a safe, supportive space
- Make new friends and share their love of performance
- Dip in and out as needed, with a sensory-friendly chill-out room full of crafts, toys, and games
💜 A Space for Everyone
We know that every child is different, so we made sure these sessions were truly inclusive. Whether kids wanted to join in the whole time or take breaks in our sensory room, they were free to explore at their own pace.
Parents and carers could stay and support—or enjoy a well-earned cuppa in the next room. Siblings were welcome too, making it a real family affair!
👩🏫 Meet Kathleen
Kathleen brought energy, empathy, and expertise to every session. With over 30 years in the performing arts and a deep commitment to inclusion, she created a space where every child could feel seen, supported, and celebrated.
She’s not just a teacher—she’s a mum, a carer, a Reiki practitioner, and a certified face-reader (yes, really!). Her passion for helping children express themselves through movement is truly inspiring.
