Superhero Award Ceremony and Marathon Challenge

What an amazing day! It was a day celebrating our very special children, learning about the challenges that they have faced and overcome as well as breaking new boundaries as a team and truly hitting the Little Hiccups #NoLimits ethos.

We had two events in one for this one. We had our Superhero Award Ceremony where families nominate their children Superhero awards in one of three categories: Mini Marvels, Teen Titans and Super Siblings. And every one of them deserve the award and each child received a medal from Marvel, which was sponsored by Zurich, a certificate and a Goody bag with items sponsored by Garforth and District Lions, Ison Harrison and Lush.

We were also lucky enough to have the Super Susie Sparkles and Spiderman come visit. They were kept busy supering around the place, presenting awards, crafting, defeating villains, and taking part in the Marathon Challenge.

And Lush came to visit us to help entertain the children. Any child that wanted to take part were able to make a Cow Bath Bomb to take home with them. Lush had already donated bathbombs to go into each Goody Bag so were were doubly lucky here. It certainly made the room smell beautiful!

And a huge thank you to our very reliable and talented facepainter as well. Always a hit with the kids and adults and as always was kept very busy throughout the entire time!

And this event we were also running a Marathon Challenge. We wanted to run, skip, walk, wheel a Marathon – 26 miles – as a team with everyone’s efforts culminating into the end distance. And I was blown away with the efforts involved and just how many people took part. In true Little Hiccups style I’ll families not only reached 26 miles but surpassed it massively and hit a fantastic THIRTY-SEVEN miles.
