Hello from Hiccups Bear! 👋
I’ve just come back from a very special trip with one of our amazing volunteers — and I’ve got so much to share! From building confidence to building friendships, and even helping families through big moments, here’s what I’ve been up to…
💪 Volunteering Builds Confidence (and Muscles!)
My volunteer friend, Laura, has been on a journey of her own — not just with me, but with herself too. Volunteering with Little Hiccups has helped her grow in confidence, try new things, and feel part of something meaningful. And guess what? She and fellow volunteer Lissi have even started going to the gym together! 💥
Volunteering isn’t just about giving — it’s about gaining too. Gaining confidence, gaining purpose, and gaining some pretty great friends along the way.
🧳 Hiccups Bear Goes to Scotland!
Before a big operation for James in May, I got to tag along on a family trip to Scotland. We packed up the car, brought along a safe space bed and buggy hire from Little Hiccups, and made sure everything was just right for a calm and supported holiday.
Whether it’s a weekend away or a big life moment, I’m always ready to lend a paw.
💛 Compassion Packs: A Hug in a Bag
Sometimes, families just need to know someone’s thinking of them. That’s where our Compassion Packs come in — filled with thoughtful items to bring a little comfort during tough times. I’ve seen firsthand how much these mean to families.
👯♀️ More Than Just Volunteering
Volunteering with Little Hiccups isn’t just about helping others — it’s about finding your people. Whether it’s gym sessions, coffee catch-ups, or just knowing someone’s there, the friendships formed here are real and lasting.
Until next time,
Hiccups Bear 🐻💙
