Reflecting on the Yorkshire Leadership Awards 2025

Reflecting on the Yorkshire Leadership Awards 2025

March 21, 2025 2025, Events, News

Last night, we had the honour of attending the Yorkshire Leadership Awards 2025, where our founder, Linsay Medica, was nominated for the Public & Third Sector Leader award. Although we didn’t take home the award, the competition was fierce, and we were thrilled to see the award go to Nathan Atkinson of Rethink Food CIC. Nathan’s dedication to education and community development, particularly in promoting healthier lifestyles and sustainable food choices, is truly inspiring.

Despite Linsay being unable to attend due to a family emergency, her absence highlighted the very essence of what Little Hiccups stands for. Our team faces the same challenges as the parents we support, which deepens our empathy and understanding. Linsay’s personal experiences as a parent make her an exceptional leader, and her commitment to our mission remains unwavering.

Representing Little Hiccups at the event were myself, Miriam Watson-Pratt, and our Chairperson, Sarah Stewart. We had the opportunity to meet some amazing individuals and make valuable connections that we hope will benefit our community moving forward. Even better, near the end of the night, we realised that we were sat next to individuals from Titan Private Wealth, who were friends with one of our most regular and oldest families! Such a small world and it was lovely to make that connection.

While we may not have won the award, the evening was a reminder of the incredible work being done across the region and the importance of continuing to support and uplift each other. We are proud of our nomination and even prouder of the work we do every day to support families.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us on this journey. We look forward to what the future holds and remain committed to making a positive impact in our community.
