📝 About the Session

• What we will be doing: Join us for a relaxed afternoon at Eden’s Forest in Honley, Holmfirth. There will be a number of activities on offer throughout the afternoon including bush crafts, green woodworking, a zipline and cargo net and lots more!! This is brilliant opportunity to meet other parents and carers, whilst exploring the amazing forest!
• What to expect (The Vibe): We will be joined by two Outdoor Learning Practitioners from Eden’s Forest CIC, who will guide you through the plan and the activities for the afternoon. Although there is some structure to this event, there will be opportunities to enjoy the forest at your own pace.
• Who it’s for: Strictly for parents and carers of children with additional needs or disabilities. Over 18’s only. We are sorry but there is no childcare available. This is a chance for you to have a break and chat with people who get it, whilst in an amazing setting!
• Date & Time: Sunday 27th September from 2pm to 5pm.

🚗 Getting There & Arrival

• Venue Address: Hey Wood, Hall Ing, Honley, HD9 (Entrance track is opposite 80 Hall Ing – What3words: gain.zest.shins)
• Parking Details: Free parking on-site (more details to follow)
• Finding the Little Hiccups Group: Members of the Little Hiccups team will be at the entrance to greet you, along with the team from Eden’s Forest CIC.
• Entrance & Access: As this a forest there will be uneven ground throughout. If you need more information about this, please get in touch and to discuss this further.

🚶 The Venue Space & Seating

• Forest layout: There are a number of areas within the forest that we will be exploring. These will be as accessible as possibly but there will be some uneven ground. Most of the activity areas are under cover.
• Seating & Comfort: There is seating within the forest but we are unsure of the style and comfort of the seating.

🚽 Toilets & Accessibility

• Standard Accessible Toilet: Yes, located on the ground floor close to our seating area. No Radar key required. More details on this to follow.
• Changing Places Toilet: No, standard accessible toilets only.

🍰 Atmosphere, Food & Drinks

• Lighting & Noise Levels: There will be natural lighting and the noise level may vary depending on the activity we are doing but there will be space to move away from the noise if needed.
• Food & Refreshments: Little Hiccups is providing free hot drinks and we will be having wood fired pizza’s during the afternoon. Please bring some water with you and any other refreshments you would like.

⛑️ Safety & Venue Details

• Little Hiccups Staff: As always, our staff and volunteers will be on hand to make sure everyone feels welcome. If you are nervous about coming alone, drop us a message beforehand and we will make sure someone meets you at the door!
• First Aid & Evacuation: The venue has dedicated first-aid trained staff and all emergency exits are step-free.

Spaces are limited so we can keep the group size relaxed and comfortable.

Cost: £27pp (with £12 refunded after the event if attended) so final cost will be £15

Booking opens on Sunday 2nd August at 6pm 

Booking closes Sunday 13th September at 6pm

Important Booking Information:
Please note that our events are heavily subsidised by Little Hiccups to support our community. Because the charity covers the remaining costs based on our final confirmed numbers (such as venue hire, refreshments, entertainers and presenter costs), we kindly ask that you let us know if your plans change. If you can no longer make it, please cancel your places by emailing events@littlehiccups.co.uk so we can reallocate the spots and prevent charity funds from being lost.
