A Magical (and Slightly Soggy!) Day at Sundown Adventureland

A Magical (and Slightly Soggy!) Day at Sundown Adventureland

A Magical (and Slightly Soggy!) Day at Sundown Adventureland

December 9, 2025 Events

Christmas just isn’t Christmas without our traditional Little Hiccups trip to Sundown Adventureland – and this year was no exception! Despite the classic British weather doing its best to dampen spirits (rain, rain, and more rain!), nothing could wash away the festive magic that awaited us.

From the moment families arrived, Sundown was transformed into a winter wonderland. Twinkling lights, festive decorations, and the promise of meeting Father Christmas made the whole park feel like stepping into a Christmas storybook. For many of our families, this trip has become a cherished tradition – and for some, it was their very first time experiencing the magic. Judging by the smiles (and the requests to come back next year!), it certainly won’t be their last.

The Santa Experience

The highlight of the day? Without a doubt, the Magical Night Before Christmas Ride. Families boarded the sleigh for a journey through Santa’s grotto, where every child received a special gift from the big man himself. It was heartwarming to see so many Little Hiccups families gathered together, sharing the excitement and festive cheer.

Accessibility is always a priority for us, and Sundown delivered once again. Wheelchair access was well-organised, and the staff were fantastic – friendly, helpful, and determined to make the day magical for everyone.

Eight Hours of Fun (and a Well-Earned Nap!)

One family summed it up perfectly: “We had an amazing eight hours of fun! She slept all the way home and straight through the night – a first for us!” That’s the kind of feedback that makes all the planning worthwhile.

Rain? What Rain?

Yes, it was wet. Yes, the weather was “pants.” But when you’re surrounded by festive lights, laughter, and the magic of Christmas, a little drizzle doesn’t matter. In fact, it added to the cosy, Christmassy vibe – and gave us all an excuse to indulge in warm treats from the market square!

Until Next Year…

For those who couldn’t make it this time (including me – and I really missed it!), don’t worry. Sundown will definitely be back on the Little Hiccups calendar next Christmas. It’s a day full of joy, laughter, and memories that last long after the decorations come down.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and to Sundown Adventureland for making it so special. Here’s to more magical moments in 2026!
