Last night was one of those evenings that reminds us exactly why we do what we do. Shamila and I headed into the heart of Leeds for the Pride In Diversity Awards 2026 Preview Night, held at the iconic Viaduct Showbar.
The atmosphere was electric, filled with individuals and organisations who are all working towards the same goal: making Yorkshire a more inclusive, equitable, and supportive place for everyone. A massive thank you to the organisers for the invite and the incredible honour of being included in such a prestigious lineup.
A Huge Milestone for Little Hiccups
We are absolutely over the moon to announce that Little Hiccups has been named a finalist for Yorkshire Community Organisation of the Year! 🏆
Being recognised in this way means the world to us. It’s a testament to our amazing families, our dedicated volunteers, and the strength of the community we’ve built together. We can’t wait for the main awards ceremony at the First Direct Arena this June!
Connecting with Incredible People
One of the best parts of the night was catching up with the brilliant Kate Kier. Kate was also a nominee, and it was wonderful to celebrate her well-deserved recognition.
Spotlight on Talent: James the ADHD Artist
We also want to give a very special shout-out to the incredibly talented James Tortice (known as James the ADHD Artist).
James is a neurodivergent artist who creates stunning work and uses his platform to fundraise for fantastic causes. Seeing his passion and how he uses his art to give back is truly inspiring. Supporting neurodivergent talent is a huge part of our mission, and we are so proud to highlight his work. 🎨🙌
What’s Next?
The countdown to June is officially on! We’ll be heading to the First Direct Arena to celebrate with all the other finalists. No matter the result, being part of this movement is a win for all of us.
Thank you to everyone who supports Little Hiccups—we couldn’t do this without you.
