📝 About the Course
- What we will be learning: Working with schools can sometimes feel daunting, especially when you’re trying to make sure your young person’s needs are understood and supported. This workshop focuses on preparing yourself for productive communication with teachers and staff. We’ll explore how to prepare for meetings so you feel confident, what information is most useful to share, and ideas on how to express concerns when feeling under-supported. You’ll be introduced to practical tools such as a meeting preparation checklist and ready-to-use communication templates for emails and conversations, alongside strategies for ongoing communication that work for your family.
- Course Structure: A structured, collaborative online workshop running from 7:00pm – 9:00pm designed to build confidence in school communications.
- Who it’s for: Strictly for parents and carers of children with additional needs or disabilities. These workshops are fully funded by the Leeds Parent Carer Forum, making this identity-affirming support available to our families at no cost. Please note that this session is not suitable for children and no childcare is available. Grab a cuppa, get comfortable on the sofa, and join us from home!
- Date & Time: 7:00pm – 9:00pm. Bookings close exactly one week before the event to allow for course planning.
