📝 About the Session
- What we will be doing: An interactive, in-person course exploring gentle, practical strategies to support children with sensory sensitivities or emotional regulation needs during daily care routines such as toothbrushing, hair brushing, washing, and dressing.
- What to expect (The Vibe): An intimate, structured workshop limited to a maximum of 15 attendees. The course will feature specialist guidance followed by an open opportunity for questions and sharing experiences over lunch.
- Who it’s for: Strictly for parents and carers of children with additional needs or disabilities. Over 18s only. We apologise, but these courses are not suitable for children and there is no childcare available. This is a brilliant chance to pick up actionable skills and chat with others who truly get it.
- Date & Time: 10:00am – 11:30am (followed immediately by lunch and a Q&A session). Bookings close exactly one week before the event to allow for planning.
🎤 About Our Presenter / Guest Speaker
Who is joining us: The team from Juniper Tree Therapy.- What they will be sharing: They will look closely at ways to reduce stress, build trust, and support independence for children who find textures overwhelming, struggle with transitions, or require extra reassurance during self-care tasks. They will interpret bodily and sensory responses using a Sensory Integration and Sensory Attachment Intervention lens to understand what lies beneath presenting difficulties.
- About the Presenter: Juniper Tree Therapy is a Specialist Paediatric Occupational Therapy team supporting children, young people, and their families across Leeds. They are incredibly passionate about neurodevelopmental conditions, sensory and emotional difficulties, and ensuring the child is treated as the ‘expert’ of their own experience.
