Little Hiccups is thrilled to announce the unveiling of a stunning new mosaic at Lotherton Hall, a beloved Edwardian estate on the outskirts of Leeds. This beautiful artwork captures the essence of Lotherton’s natural beauty and the special moments families experience within its grounds.
The mosaic, inspired by the words of Linsay Medica, Jack’s mum, reflects the serene and enchanting atmosphere of Lotherton. “Lotherton is truly special to us. When Jack goes to Lotherton, there’s a wooded area, and as they walk through, Jack can hear all the leaves blowing and rustling, and the crunchy leaves on the ground. The mosaic captures these words beautifully, highlighting just how much we cherish our time there,” says Linsay.
Created by local artist Mary Goodwin (www.marygoodwinmosaics.co.uk), this mosaic is the latest addition to the Little Hiccups Mosaic Trail, which encourages families to explore accessible areas throughout Leeds. The trail features a series of mosaic artworks, each representing the unique experiences and perspectives of the families who participate, as well as highlighting the beauty and inclusivity of the chosen locations.
“We are collaborating with Little Hiccups families and Mary Goodwin to create these impactful artworks,” says Miriam Watson-Pratt, at Little Hiccups. “Families select an accessible place in Leeds that holds special significance to them, and with Mary’s guidance, they design a picture that reflects both their own story and the essence of the chosen location. These designs are then transformed into beautiful mosaic artworks.”
Lotherton Hall, known for its vast grounds, delightful gardens, and Wildlife World zoo, offers a perfect setting for families to explore and enjoy nature. The new mosaic adds to the charm of this historic estate, providing a visual representation of the peaceful and joyful experiences shared by visitors.
