Access to the House by Wheelchair Users
We have two stairlifts to assist visitors to access the State Floor and Below Stairs. There is access to the State Floor for electric wheelchair users with a combined weight of under 300kg.There is access to the State Floor for small mobility scooter users with a combined weight of under 300kg and with dimensions of less than 50 inches in length. However, due to narrow corridors and restricted turning circles, where possible, we would ask guests to transfer to a manual wheelchair (that we can provide). There are chairs provided for visitors to sit down in most State Floor rooms. If our team consider a mobility scooter or wheelchair too large to safely navigate the State Floor walkways, we maintain the right to deny entry to the House. There is a maximum combined weight limit capacity of 300kg.
