Yesterday, we had the absolute joy of hosting our annual Superhero Award Ceremony — and what an incredible afternoon it was!
Following the success of previous years, we once again came together to celebrate the real superheroes in our lives: Little Hiccups children and their siblings. These amazing young people have shown us time and time again their strength, resilience, and heart — and this event was all about recognising those extraordinary qualities.
🏡 The Venue
We were lucky enough to be hosted by Iveridge Hall, a stunning countryside venue just outside Leeds. The setting was peaceful, green, and beautifully relaxed — the perfect backdrop for a celebration of our superheroes. We’re so grateful to the team at Iveridge for donating the space free of charge and helping us make the day extra special.
🌟 The Awards
We awarded 18 children across three categories:
- Mini Marvels (ages 2–9)
- Teen Titans (ages 10–18)
Each nomination came from someone who knows them best — parents, carers, and friends — and every story shared reminded us why these children truly deserve to be celebrated.
🎉 The Fun Stuff
We were thrilled to welcome The Hiccups Heroes for their debut performance, with the fabulous Super Susie Sparkles leading the way in dazzling rainbow colours! Her energy, warmth, and sparkle brought so much joy to the children — it was a real highlight of the day. There was facepainting and balloon fun courtesy of Face Painting by Claire, and a special visit from Lush Leeds White Rose, where children got to make their own bath bombs — a huge hit!
🍽️ The Food
A massive thank you to Lynn from LG Catering, who stepped in last minute and absolutely delivered. The food was delicious, and the relaxed vibe made it easy for families to enjoy the afternoon together. The weather was warm but not too sunny — perfect for an outdoor celebration without the worry of sunburn!
💛 The Atmosphere
It was just one of those lovely, chilled afternoons where everything came together. Smiles, laughter, and a real sense of community filled the air. We’re so proud of every child there that day — whether they received an award this year or not, they are ALL superheroes in our eyes.
💬 What Families Said
“Just want to say a huge thank you for today! We absolutely loved it! I would say it was the boys’ favourite event so far 😊 The combination of outdoors, relaxed games and the extra things you could drop in to do when you wanted was perfect for them. The awards day was so special. William happily played with the games for ages and even played with friends which was lovely. Know it was a smaller group than the usual big events but it was just amazing for him. Can see there was so much effort put into it and want to say we really appreciated it ❤️”
