Yesterday, we had the absolute pleasure of joining Lush at the White Rose Centre for a private, sensory-friendly Halloween-themed party — and it was magical!
Thanks to Lush’s incredible team, we were welcomed into the store before the shopping centre opened, giving our families a calm and quiet environment to explore, play, and enjoy. With almost full attendance (just two missing due to illness — but their goody bags made it home safely with family members!), the atmosphere was joyful and inclusive from the moment we arrived.
We chose the Fun and Games package, which was packed with hands-on, sensory-rich activities tailored to suit our children’s needs. The store was transformed into a Halloween haven with:
- 🎃 Pumpkin bath bomb making – a hands-on, fizzy delight that had children mesmerised by the colours and scents.
- 🫧 Bubble blowing – simple, joyful fun that brought smiles to every face.
- 👻 Monsters frozen in ice – a tactile treasure hunt that encouraged curious fingers to dig and discover.
- 🎨 Colouring stations – a calm creative corner for those who wanted a quieter moment. 🧼
- Exploring favourite Lush products – from squishy shower jellies to glittery bath bombs, the sensory textures and smells were a huge hit.
- 🎁 Goody bags for every attendee – packed with treats to take home and continue the fun.
The Lush team were absolutely phenomenal. Warm, welcoming, and full of energy, they made every child feel seen and valued. They took time to explain each activity, encouraged participation at every level, and adapted beautifully to the needs of our children. Whether it was helping a child mix ingredients, guiding them through the sensory stations, or simply offering a reassuring smile, their kindness and enthusiasm shone through.
It wasn’t just about the activities — it was about the atmosphere. The team created a space where children could be themselves, explore at their own pace, and enjoy a truly inclusive experience. Parents and carers were able to relax, knowing their children were in safe, understanding hands.
We were also grateful for the excellent accessibility at the White Rose Centre, which includes:
- Plenty of disabled parking
- Lifts and accessible toilets
- A Changing Place facility
With only 50 spaces available, we encouraged families to book early and prioritise children who would benefit most from a sensory event. We trusted families to make decisions around how many adults were needed, and it worked beautifully — a lovely balance of support and space for everyone.
A heartfelt thank you to Lush White Rose for letting us host such a thoughtful and inclusive event. It was a perfect blend of spooky fun, sensory delight, and community spirit. We’re already looking forward to the next one!
