At Templegate Tiny Tots, compassion and community are at the heart of everything they do. This spirit was beautifully demonstrated in their recent tribute to Athena, a cherished child once in their care through the Little Hiccups community, who sadly passed away.
In memory of Athena, the team at Templegate Tiny Tots embarked on a heartfelt fundraising journey. They took on the formidable Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge—an inspiring feat of endurance and unity. Their goal was to create something lasting, something that would reflect Athena’s joy and the love she brought into their lives.
Thanks to their incredible efforts and the generosity of supporters, the funds raised were used to build a stunning gazebo in their forest school area. This peaceful, nature-filled space now serves as a place of reflection, learning, and connection—a fitting tribute to a little girl who touched so many hearts.
The gazebo was officially opened in a moving ceremony attended by Athena’s foster carers, who were deeply touched by the gesture. Also present was local MP Helen Hayden, who showed her support for the initiative and the importance of community-driven projects like this one.
The opening was not just about unveiling a structure—it was about honouring a life, celebrating community, and creating a space where Athena’s memory can continue to inspire joy, curiosity, and kindness in others.
Templegate Tiny Tots have shown that even in the face of loss, love can build something beautiful.
