LS-TEN Skateboarding/Scootering

LS-TEN Skateboarding/Scootering

LS-TEN Skateboarding/Scootering

February 23, 2022 2022, Events
A lesson on the skateboard

I approached LS-TEN with not a lot of notice, asking if we could come and visit them one day in February. And they were just lovely. Sometimes you meet individuals and corporations that are just so willing to try new things and just take everything we throw at them. This is one of those places (so thank you to Denham for answering my million questions!) We did also already had an inkling that they would be able to support us as they have a section on their website for Disability Sports so knew that they had some experience in this matter.

What we found when we arrived, was a nice chilled session. The half term club that was on had been kicked out or moved upstairs to the cafe (thank you guys!) so we had the skate-park to ourselves, which meant plenty of space for the kids to explore and practice their jumps. They provided extra helmets, scooters and skateboards just in case and also had out all of the adaptive bikes to allow everyone to take part. And these were well used. Several children had a go in them. Hopefully they were well received.

The kids enjoyed zipping around the place
Having fun

For the next hour, all the children zipped around the place slowly building up confidence. Several ditched the scooters and practised parkour instead by climbing and sliding and having fun that way. We saw the LS-TEN crew teaching the kids little tricks and encouraging them to try new things. From this, I believe we may have some new skateboard enthusiasts…But this is the whole point of these events. To opening up these doors! All in all, I think it help blow some half-term cobwebs away and provide a bit of exercise! I’ve come away buzzing with the vibes from this one. Everything just seemed to click.

Thank you to everyone who came!

What our families say:

“I did it!! With my other half working… I wasn’t sure if I would be able to take the kids on my own. To the Little Hiccups event. But the staff helped me and they even got me a drink and the kids. I cannot be more thankful!! We had our moments!!! But thanks to Little Hiccups, I did it!! I love their events. Thank you little hiccups for a lovely day.”

“Thank you for another awesome day!  We are now confident parkour enthusiasts!“

“Boys had a fab time. Thank you xx”

“Thank you so much for an amazing experience, we absolutely loved it.”

“What an amazing experience! Thank for the opportunity, it was great to get to know new people as well.”
