We have some incredibly exciting news to share with our Little Hiccups family!
We are honoured to announce that Little Hiccups has been named a finalist for Yorkshire Community Organisation of the Year at the Pride in Diversity Awards 2026.
More Than Just a Nomination
Being shortlisted for such a prestigious regional award is a huge milestone for us. Little Hiccups was founded by parents, for parents, with a simple but vital goal: to ensure that no family raising a child with additional needs or disabilities in Leeds feels alone.
This nomination isn’t just about the work we do as a charity; it’s a recognition of the strength, resilience, and joy of the families we serve. Whether we are meeting for a Stay & Play session, enjoying the hydrotherapy pool, or heading off on one of our family fun days, it is the spirit of our community that makes Little Hiccups award-winning.
The Power of Connection
Our mission has always been to provide a safe, inclusive, and welcoming space. We know that raising a child with complex needs comes with unique challenges, but we also know the power of connecting with people who “just get it.”
From our equipment lending library to our peer support networks, every service we offer is designed to foster social inclusion and build confidence. To be recognised as a leading community organisation in Yorkshire validates the importance of these connections.
What’s Next?
The final winners will be announced this June. While we would obviously love to bring the trophy home to Leeds, being a finalist alongside so many other inspiring organisations is already a victory.
A Heartfelt Thank You
We want to say a massive thank you to:
- Our Volunteers: Who give their time and heart to make our events happen.
- Our Donors: Whose generosity allows us to keep our sessions accessible.
- Our Families: You are the reason we exist. Thank you for trusting us and being part of this journey.
Keep an eye on our social media pages for updates as we head toward the awards ceremony in June!
