To replace the Ninja Warrior event, we have managed to book the wonderful Circus Leeds to come and teach our children Circus Skills. They are all about accessibility and say that children of all abilities will be able to come and have a go. I’ve spoken to them on the phone and they are very excited to meet our families.
CircusLeeds was established as Leeds Children’s Circus in 1989 and provides circus workshops, classes and events for young people and, in more recent years, adults.
It’ll be a circus party to remember where partygoers can have fun with their wide range of circus equipment from diablo to juggling, hoop to poi. There’ll be short demonstrations from their circus artist, circus games, crazy tricks to learn and a chance to have a go at everything.
Circus Leeds offers an alternative physical activity that is uniquely accessible and inclusive. Their classes often appeal to young people who cannot access traditional sports, because of mental health, social anxiety or physical barriers and who gain huge benefits from a physical practice which is noncompetitive, affordable and non-judgemental.
Circus Leeds practice builds physical skills and confidence in hand-eye co-ordination, balance, teamwork, flexibility and strength. It’s also an opportunity to be very daft and is brilliant for breaking down cultural or language barriers.
We’re running it as a relaxed session so children will be able to dip in and out as required. We’ll have some crafts going in the corner as well.
Refreshments
There will be drinks and snacks available for all. Please let me know any allergies/dietary requirements when booking.
