Today, Little Hiccups had an incredible Halloween-themed adventure in the woods with Wilderness Adventures, a fantastic initiative run by Nicola and her team of nature-loving individuals. The event was all about embracing the Forest School approach to learning, combining nature, hands-on activities, and creativity in an outdoor setting.
The forest was alive with Halloween spirit as children donned their spooky costumes, although it was perfectly fine for those who opted out. The kids had a blast exploring various themed activities, including pumpkins, spiders, ghosts, slime, worms, and witches!
The forest school activities were diverse and engaging and featured an exciting array of activities such as a sand pit, physical play with swings and ladders, tyre swings, and a magical mud kitchen set up with flowers and plants for potion making. They also had the chance to get crafty with clay or playdough. There was a dinosaur area and a pumpkin area, where the kids could hammer tees into them, which was a big hit! For those seeking a quieter moment, there was a cozy reading area to retreat to.
As the event came to a close, everyone gathered around the campfire for some delicious hot chocolate and marshmallow toasting. Hiccups Bear joined in the fun, trying out all the activities and bringing smiles to everyone’s faces. The event was a huge success, filled with laughter, learning, and plenty of Halloween fun.
Thank you to Nicola and the Wilderness Adventures team for creating such a memorable experience. We’re already looking forward to our next adventure in the woods!
