Last weekend, Emile Murray took on the Chester Marathon, tackling the full 26.2-mile course in memory of his brother to raise vital funds for Little Hiccups.
Anyone who has ever trained for or run a marathon knows how brutal those final miles can be. Emile found out firsthand what “hitting the wall” really feels like, battling heavy legs and pure exhaustion to make it over the finish line. Walking is definitely proving a bit of a challenge for him over the next couple of days, but the grit he showed to get across that line was incredible.
Even better, Emile’s hard work and the brilliant generosity of his supporters mean he has raised over £2,000 for Little Hiccups.
As a small charity, donations of this size make a huge, tangible difference to our day-to-day work. Every penny raised goes directly back into our community—funding our regular stay-and-play sessions, subsidised family days out, hydrotherapy, and the peer support networks that give local families who have children with additional needs and disabilities a place to connect and feel understood.
We want to say a huge thank you to every single person who donated, shared his link, or sent words of encouragement along the way.
Most of all, congratulations to Emile. Running 26.2 miles in memory of your brother and raising such a fantastic total is an outstanding achievement. Enjoy the well-deserved rest, put your feet up, and thank you from everyone at Little Hiccups! 💜
