    Introducing Our Patron

    Paralympian Maddie Thompson

    Introducing Our Patron:
    Paralympian Maddie Thompson

We are thrilled to announce that Maddie Thompson, an extraordinary athlete and an inspiring role model, has joined Little Hiccups as our new patron! Maddie’s journey as a Paralympian is a testament to resilience, dedication, and the power of sport to change lives. Her commitment to advocating for those with additional needs aligns perfectly with our mission, and we are honoured to have her support.

    About Maddie Thompson

Maddie Thompson is a celebrated British wheelchair basketball player who has represented her country at the highest levels of competition. Born with limb defects that resulted in her leg being amputated Maddie has never let her disability define her. Instead, she has harnessed her strength, determination, and passion for basketball to achieve remarkable success on the international stage.

    Key Achievements:

    • Paralympic Success: Maddie is a two-time Paralympian, having competed in the London 2012 and Tokyo 2020.
    • World Championships: Maddie has also been a key player in the British team’s performances at the World Championships, consistently showcasing her skills and leadership on the court. She played a pivotal role in helping the Great Britian Women’s Wheelchair Basketball team secure a historic silver medal.
    • European Championships: Her contributions to the sport have been instrumental in the team’s success at the European level, where she has helped secure multiple medals for Great Britain.

Beyond her impressive sporting achievements, Maddie is a passionate advocate for disability rights and inclusivity. She understands the challenges that individuals with additional needs face, and she is committed to using her platform to raise awareness and drive positive change.

    Why Maddie Supports Little Hiccups

Maddie’s dedication to empowering those with additional needs is deeply personal. As someone who has overcome obstacles and thrived in the face of adversity, she is passionate about helping others realise their potential. By becoming a patron of Little Hiccups, Maddie hopes to inspire children and families to embrace their uniqueness and pursue their dreams, no matter the challenges they may encounter.

    A Message from Maddie

“I am incredibly honoured to join Little Hiccups as a patron. This charity’s work is close to my heart, and I am excited to support such a wonderful cause. I believe that every child, regardless of their circumstances, deserves the opportunity to live their best life, and I look forward to being part of this amazing journey with Little Hiccups.”

We are confident that Maddie’s involvement will further elevate the work we do at Little Hiccups, and we are excited about the new opportunities this partnership will bring. Together, we can continue to support and empower families and children with additional needs, helping them to overcome their own challenges and thrive.
