Volunteer

Join Our Team

Child Protection

We take Child Protection very seriously and although no volunteer is ever left alone with a child, we undertake the following procedures before recruiting a volunteer for regular support at Stay n Play, Family Fun Days or Hydrotherapy sessions:

  • Application Form with references
  • Interview with at least one panel member trained in Safer Recruitment
  • DBS Check

Volunteering at Little Hiccups can be a really rewarding and useful experience – and there’s probably more ways of doing it than you might think.

Little Hiccups promotes volunteering opportunities. We recognise that there are situations in which help from volunteers can make a significant and appropriate contribution to the work and service objectives of our organisation.

Volunteers can be described as people who put their experience, knowledge and skills at the disposal of an organisation, free of charge, with the primary aim of helping the organisation to achieve its service objectives and/or with the aim of bringing benefit to the local community.  Volunteers will be officially accepted and welcomed into the Charity.

Volunteer opportunities at Little Hiccups are currently supporting:

Whether you would consider organising your first fundraiser, setting up a bake sale or looking for an extreme challenge, we would love to have you on board. Could you organise a dress down day at work? Whether you chose to do a fundraising activity or to give a direct donation, every pound you raise goes straight back into Little Hiccups and we are grateful for any support that you can give.

Everything you do to raise money will play a vital role in helping us achieve our ambition.

Tell Your Story Online

We’re always looking for people to tell their stories of their experiences of Little Hiccups via blogs, vblogs, sharing photos or a testimonial. Please email info@littlehiccups.co.uk if you can help here.

Experience

Are you an IT whizz? A star at writing a piece for the newspaper? Can you create videos? Are you a graphic designer? Do you bake cakes for a living? Can you play a musical instrument to entrance our children?

Do you have a few hours to spare your expertise to help us out? Even if it is a few hours at home or entertaining children for a Stay n Play session – everything helps. Let us know if you can help us this way by emailing info@littlehiccups.co.uk.

How to Apply

The potential volunteer should express which role(s) they are interested in pursuing and their availability.

All roles (including the current committee!) are unpaid but we do pay any expenses that you may incur as part of your volunteering.

No volunteers are left alone with a child as they remain the parents responsibility throughout sessions/events. We are merely there to support.

You can download our Volunteer Induction Pack here.  The Volunteer pack contains Job Descriptions, Application Form and Terms and Conditions.

Volunteer Application form can also be completed online here.

Please email any questions or the completed pack to info@littlehiccups.co.uk. If you would like this posting to you, just let us know!

If you are a current volunteer you can download a copy of our Expenses Form here.
