Wild in the Woods: A Chilled Saturday at Forest School

Wild in the Woods: A Chilled Saturday at Forest School

Wild in the Woods: A Chilled Saturday at Forest School

April 20, 2026 Events

🌲🔥There is something truly special about heading into the woods, leaving the noise of the world behind, and just letting kids be kids. This past Saturday, the Little Hiccups families did exactly that as we returned to the woods with the brilliant team at Wilderness Adventures CIC.

Having been before, we knew we were in for a treat, and it was wonderful to be back in such a familiar, welcoming setting. From the moment we arrived at the private woodland in Kippax, the atmosphere was exactly what we all needed: lovely, calm, and completely chilled.

A Very Special Act of Kindness

We were also joined by some very familiar faces from Templegate Tiny Tots. We know the team there so well, and it was an honour to have them choose Little Hiccups as part of their 50th Anniversary celebrations.

They are currently completing 50 Acts of Kindness to mark their 50 years, and they’ve chosen to support a couple of our upcoming events! They jumped right in to help out on Saturday, and their kindness made a fantastic day even better. Happy 50th Anniversary, Templegate Tiny Tots!

Mud, Marshmallows, and Memories

The beauty of the Forest School approach is that there are no “rules” on how to play. Our families jumped straight into the thick of it! We had builders working on dens, chefs busy in the mud kitchen, and artists creating masterpieces with clay and playdough. And of course, no trip to the woods is complete without the highlight of the day—toasting marshmallows over the campfire! ☕🍢

Even the Bear Joined In!

As many of you know, Hiccups Bear never likes to miss out on an adventure. He had the absolute time of his life! Whether he was “helping” with the fire lighting or finding the best spot for a woodland nap, he was right in the heart of the action. It was wonderful to see the children (and the grown-ups!) so relaxed and engaged with nature.

A Huge Thank You

A massive thank you to the team at Wilderness Adventures for having us back and for being so welcoming. It was a day filled with wonder, curiosity, and a lot of happy, muddy faces. It was, quite simply, everything we needed.
