We’ve hired out LaserZone at Xscape in Castleford for Little Hiccups Families.
It will be party style with gaming time and food and we have two slots available at 10am and 11am. The 10am will be quieter with less public around so please let me know on booking if you think your child will benefit from a quieter environment. I cannot promise that you will get the 10am slot as I think that it may the majority of children attending, but I will try!
Each package will consist of:
- 2 games in LaserZone
- Party Bags
- Hot Pizza Buffet and juice
These sessions will be run as SEND Sessions so the following will apply:
- Additional lighting inside the laser tag arena
- Reduced music levels inside the laser tag arena & foyer
- Reduced special effects including artificial smoke limited to a light haze
- Reduced player numbers
And as the competitive element of LaserZone may cause anxiety among some the following will also apply:
- give every guest a certificate of participation
- switch off our score screens
- only provide scorecards if requested (and these will be provided in an envelope to be opened in private after the event has finished.
Minimum age is 6. And we can have 8 wheelchairs maximum in total.
It is a maximum of 20 per session and these numbers includes parents who may need to go in with their children. So please only book a slot to go in with children if it is needed. If there are spaces left coming up to the event, we’ll open it up to the parents to go in an play. Parents not playing can stay in reception and Little Hiccups will pay for the tea/coffee while you wait!
You only need tickets for those playing the game. Parent/Carers waiting in reception do not need a ticket.
Please let me know any dietary requirements and allergies when booking.
Accessibility
Parking
There is lots available and plenty of Disabled spaces
Toilets/Changing Places
Toilets are available in man places in Xscape. The closest Changing Place is Jct 32.
Access
LazerZone is on the second floor. There is a lift and escalators available. There are some slopes inside of LazerZone and narrow corridors.
The main parts of the playing arenas are designed to be wheelchair friendly. There are a few ramped areas in each playing arena that are of too steep a gradient for wheelchairs, and so must not be used by them. There is nothing different on these levels than on the first level. LaserZone recognises that, whilst usually two hands are necessary to operate our phasers, this may not be practical for a wheelchair user. Staff have the ability to override this function where necessary. Wheelchair users must move no faster than ‘walking pace’, for the same reasons that players must not run whilst playing. They must also exercise extra care when turning corners, again, for the same reasons that other players should.
