This is our first Superhero Award Ceremony and we’re hoping to host one every year from now on. There is a lot going on, so I’m emailing out now to give you plenty of notice.

Here is what to expect:

Award Ceremony

We will be awarding 27 children (yeah we know it was supposed to be 24 – but we just couldn’t get it down. They are all amazing!) in three categories:

• Mini Marvels (ages 2-9)

• Teen Titans (ages 10-15)

• Super Siblings (all ages)

Each category will have a break between to allow you and the children to move around and explore our activities and entertainment. Each child will receive a medal donated by Zurich.

Superhero Race

This event is being sponsored by Zurich and powered by Marvel. And as a consequence, we will also be holding a small race for Nominees. We have small balls of ‘Kryptonite’ that we will need to get across the playground before it saps the Superhero powers. This is not a race between each other. All the superheroes need to work together to support each other and sidekicks (aka parents, siblings!) are able to help and support as well. It’s a bit of fun and there is no pressure to take part.

Get your Super costumes ready! We hope you’ll jump into the super-fun spirit of this event & don a Superhero costume for your super mission but it is again, not obligatory!

There will be no obligation to fundraise as the aim of the day is fun and celebration, but it would be great if you could. Every penny helps! 

Other Competitions

We’re hosting some other competitions on the day with prizes donated by Ison Harrison so that all the children and adults can take part in the day! These are:

• Superhero Fancy Dress Competition

• Baking Competition

• Best Fundraiser Competition

• Best Superhero Artwork Competition

Ison Harrison are sponsoring these prizes and are donating Amazon Vouchers. For each category there will be a First prize (£25), Second Prize(£15) and a third prize (£10).

And sponsored by Growing Zone there will also be a on the day Lego Competition on the day with a £5 prize.

Other Activities

The theme of this year’s Superhero Awards is ‘Summer Street Party’ so we have stalls planned. We will have a cake stall, disney clothes, disney toys, plant stall (all for a donation), a craft stall, a lego stall and a few other bits and bobs for donations. There will also be a raffle with hopefully some great prizes!

So do remember to bring some cash on the day as we’ll have some great bargains available!

We’ll have Suzie Sparkles back to help entertain and wow the children. We’ll also have facepainting available and Make a Smile will also be attending as Superheroes.

We are aiming to have a Goody bag for every child attending on the day (while stocks last!)
