Last Saturday, we braved the storm—literally—and came together for a day of snowy adventure, laughter, and connection. With flooded motorways and relentless rain, it would’ve been easy to stay home. But not our families. Around 90% made the journey to Manchester, proving once again that nothing can stop the Little Hiccups community when it comes to #MakingMemories.
🏂 Skiing for All
Thanks to the phenomenal team at Disability Snowsport UK, children and parents had the chance to experience skiing in a fully inclusive and supportive environment. Whether it was stand-up skiing or SitSkis for those with limited mobility, every participant was given the opportunity to glide down the slopes with confidence.
One parent shared:
“T was angry at me for trying to help him, but the instructor saw that and gently took over. She sat in the snow with him, took off his boots, stretched his feet, and waited until he was ready to go again. She was so kind.”
Another family arrived late due to the weather, but the team made sure they didn’t miss out:
“Arrived at 4.10pm and they still got them on the snow. M would’ve been devastated if he’d missed out. I’m so grateful.”
These moments of compassion and flexibility made all the difference.
🎢 Snow Park Fun
The Snow Park was buzzing with excitement. From the ice slide to downhill donuts and sledge ‘n’ slide, families raced, slid, and laughed their way through the day. While the Snow Park wasn’t accessible for wheelchairs, it offered a thrilling experience for those able to take part.
🍕 Refuelling with a Feast
Families gathered in the Anton / Aspen Conference Room to enjoy a rotating buffet of hot and cold treats. From pizza and fish goujons to sandwiches and fries, there was something for everyone. It was the perfect warm-up between snowy adventures.
