Taking Flight: This Week at Drama of the Heart

Taking Flight: This Week at Drama of the Heart

Taking Flight: This Week at Drama of the Heart

March 13, 2026 Events

It has been a week of high-flying imagination and non-stop laughter at Drama of the Heart! Our members truly took to the skies, proving once again that with a bit of creativity, you don’t need a runway to travel the world.

From vintage aviation to chaotic cabin crews, here is a look at what we got up to in our latest session.

1940s Innovation and Helping Hands

We started our journey by stepping back in time. Using nothing but our bodies, we worked together to construct a 1940s-style Spitfire plane. It wasn’t just a static sculpture; our members provided the moving parts and the roaring engine noise effects to bring the vintage aircraft to life.

Following our mechanical success, we moved into the cabin for a round of ‘Helping Hands’. This game required some serious synchronisation! One member took on the role of an air hostess reading the emergency evacuation procedures, while another person acted as their “hands,” gesturing and signalling wildly to match the script. As you can imagine, the results were absolutely hilarious!

Chaos on the Boeing 747

The energy shifted as we boarded a (virtual) Boeing 747 for a game of ‘Guess the Passenger’s Quirks’. The Captain certainly had their work cut out for them as a series of “challenging” passengers boarded the flight:

  • A child who couldn’t stop kicking the seat in front.
  • A smuggled iguana running riot through the cabin.
  • A poor gentleman who managed to get himself locked in the toilet.
  • A passenger shouting into their phone over loud headphones.
  • A traveller who just wouldn’t stop ringing the service bell!

Our Captain was on top form, though, and managed to correctly identify every single quirk despite the cabin chaos.

Taking the Director’s Chair

We wrapped up the session with a brand-new improvisation activity titled ‘A Family Day Out’. After plotting out detailed character profiles, the group built a car and set off for their destination.

To keep everyone on their toes, we introduced a ‘Director’ role. The Director had the power to:

  • Pause and mute the scene at any time.
  • Add a twist to the storyline.
  • Introduce a prop to a character to see how it changed the dynamic.

Well Done, Team!

The level of creativity and spontaneity on display was wonderful to witness. Everyone did an amazing job bringing these stories and characters to life. It was a session full of energy, teamwork, and, most importantly, fun.

The Show Must Go On

Dec 30, 2021

I'm not going to lie...there was a lot of discussion as to whether we should continue this Christmas Party. There was a lot of monitoring the news for updates and a lot of sleepless nights weighing up the pros and cons of going ahead or cancelling.
