What an absolutely beautiful morning we had on Sunday, 7th June! The Little Hiccups families came together for a private takeover at the Aagrah in Garforth for our annual Eid Brunch Social, and it is safe to say the atmosphere was pure joy from start to finish.
We know that dining out as a family with additional needs can sometimes feel a bit daunting, which is why we meticulously plan every detail to make sure everyone feels comfortable and completely included. From having tables removed to allow spacious wheelchair access, to keeping the environment completely music-free, it was wonderful to see our children settling in so beautifully.
One parent, shared exactly what this meant to them:
“We enjoyed being able to try different foods and having a relaxed atmosphere. It really helped that there was no music as we all struggle with this in restaurants. My child was really settled and enjoyed having the entertainers come round…”
Non-Stop Entertainment & Magical Moments
Our line-up of entertainment went above and beyond to make the morning special! The wonderful performers rotated beautifully around the tables so that no one missed out on the action, allowing children to wait patiently and comfortably in their own space.
- The Balloon Guy (Roger): A massive hit with the kids! From swords to animals, his creations brought so much laughter.
- Magician (Ray Burrell): Mind-boggling close-up magic that left both kids and parents completely amazed!
- Face Painting (Claire): Beautiful, creative designs expertly applied by Claire.
- Henna Art (Qura): Gorgeous, intricate traditional designs applied by the talented Qura.
“The food and entertainment were great. The balloon man was a huge hit!”
A Space to Relax and Connect
While the main room was buzzing with excitement, we transformed the venue’s waiting area into a Dedicated Little Hiccups Quiet Space. Packed full of sensory toys, games, Lego, and colouring, it provided the perfect, calming pit-stop for children who needed a little break from the sensory buzz.
Another mum perfectly summed up the community spirit of the day:
“The entertainment, and the sensory area. Meeting up with other families and catching up while the kids safely supervised. Was an overall beautiful well thought out day – as with all little hiccups events.”
Feasting and Goody Bags
Of course, you can’t have an Eid party without an incredible feast! The team at Aagrah laid on a spectacular, mouth-watering Halal and vegetarian buffet spread that allowed everyone to try a bit of everything—from traditional treats to breakfast favourites.
And no one went home empty-handed! Every single child left with a big smile and a special Little Hiccups goody bag packed with treats and surprises to keep the magic going at home.
Thank You!
We want to say a massive thank you to the brilliant staff at Aagrah Garforth for being so accommodating, to our wonderful team of entertainers, and to the amazing Little Hiccups staff who worked hard to support everyone throughout the morning.
Most of all, thank you to our families for making it such a lovely, supportive community gathering. Hearing how much your children enjoyed the food and activities is exactly why we love hosting these events.
Here’s to many more cherished memories together!
