📝 About the Event

• What we will be doing: We have been invited to take part in this year’s Leeds Pride Parade! We will join a wonderful, colourful walking group to showcase our spirit and celebrate equality, inclusion, and community in the heart of Leeds. Creative outfits and fancy dress are highly encouraged—the more colourful, the better! Please make sure you can see clearly in your costume and are comfortable walking the entire route.
• Is it structured? Yes, this is a structured parade overseen by official stewards. The parade moves continuously once it starts, and there must be no more than a 5m distance left between participating groups to keep everyone safe. It will be a busy, high-energy, and noisy event, so please keep this in mind when considering if it is appropriate for your family.
• Who it’s for & Group Size: This event is open to our registered Little Hiccups families. However, spaces are strictly limited to a maximum of 40 walkers, so booking early is essential! The walking route is designed to be accessible.
• Date & Time: Sunday (Parade Day) 2026. The parade begins promptly at 12:30pm. All Little Hiccups walkers must be checked in and in place by 11:45am at the latest.

🚗 Getting There & Arrival

• Venue Address: Leeds City Centre (Exact assembly/meeting point details will be confirmed and sent to booked families prior to the event).
• Venue Website: For general event updates, you can visit the official organisers at Leeds Pride.
• Parking & Drop-Off: There are various city centre car parks available, but please be aware of extensive event-day road closures and travel delays. Plan your journey to arrive well before the 11:45am assembly cutoff.
• Finding Little Hiccups: Look out for our bright, colourful group and the main Little Hiccups banner at our designated assembly area.

🚶 Moving Around

• Space: This is entirely an outdoor street event traversing city pavements and roads. The designated parade route is fully accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs. At the end of the route, options will be provided to easily exit the city centre without needing to enter the crowded main event space on Lower Briggate.
• Seating: There is no seating along the parade route as we will be on the move. We recommend bringing a lightweight, portable folding chair if anyone in your family needs to sit during the assembly period before 12:30pm.

🚽 Toilets & Changing Facilities

• Standard Accessible Toilet: Accessible city centre toilets, local business facilities, and shopping centre amenities are located near the route, though queues may be long.
• Changing Places Toilet: The nearest permanent Changing Places venues are available within Leeds City Centre (such as Leeds Kirkgate Market or the Trinity Leeds shopping centre). You can check locations on the Changing Places Toilets Map.

🎧 Sensory & Calm Spaces

As this is a massive, open-air public street parade with crowds, music, and sirens, it will be highly stimulating. We cannot guarantee an official quiet or calm space along the route. We highly recommend bringing ear defenders, sensory comforting items, or planning a quick exit strategy into quieter side streets if your child becomes overwhelmed.

🍰 Food & Drinks

Please ensure you bring plenty of water, drinks, and snacks for your family to enjoy during the assembly wait time and along the route. There are extensive food outlets, cafes, and stalls across Leeds city centre to purchase refreshments once the parade finishes. Please note: No alcohol is to be consumed within the parade.

🌳 Outdoor Spaces

• Paths & Ground: The entirety of the parade route takes place on paved city centre roads and pedestrian zones.
• Hazards to Note: Major city crowds, loud noises, moving parade vehicles, and standard street furniture. Please keep children close by at all times. All participants must adhere to strict guidelines outlined in the Leeds Pride 2026 Parade Guidance Sheet which will be shared with participants before the event.

⛑️ Safety & Support

• First Aid & Stewards: The parade route is managed by official event stewards and emergency first-aid teams. In the event of any minor injury or incident, please notify a Little Hiccups staff member or a nearby event official immediately.
• Prohibited Items: To maintain strict crowd safety, items such as fireworks, flammable items, flares, smoke flares, glitter guns, sparklers, and unapproved printed materials for distribution are completely banned.
• Code of Conduct: Leeds Pride is a family-friendly event focused on LGBTQ+ equality. The parade strictly prohibits any nudity, simulated sex acts, offensive behaviour, or discriminatory material.. All participants must respect and adhere to these terms as detailed in the Leeds Pride 2026 Parade Guidance Sheet.
