Last week, Little Hiccups had the absolute privilege of attending the Compassionate Cultural Conference right here in Leeds at Elland Road!
It was an incredibly inspiring day packed with powerful conversations, deep learning, and a shared mission: how we can collectively build, nurture, and sustain truly compassionate cultures across our organisations and communities.
For us at Little Hiccups, compassion isn’t just a buzzword—it’s the core of everything we do to support our wonderful families. Taking a day to connect with others who share that was incredibly grounding.
Key Takeaways from the Stage
We listened to some truly phenomenal speakers today who challenged us to think differently about how we support one another:
Embodying Compassionate Leadership
There was a huge focus on how genuine compassion acts as the foundation for psychological safety. When leaders and organizations listen with curiosity rather than defensiveness, it creates an environment where everyone feels valued and safe to speak up.
Bringing it Back to Our Families
Walking away from Elland Road today, our notebooks are full, but more importantly, our hearts are full. We are so excited to bring these insights back to Little Hiccups, ensuring our team, our volunteers, and—most importantly—our families continue to feel deeply supported, heard, and valued.
A massive thank you to the organisers and every single person we connected with today. Together, we’re making Leeds a more compassionate place for everyone.
