At Little Hiccups, we believe that “outreach” is just a fancy word for making new friends and making sure no family feels alone on their journey. We’ve been buzzing around Leeds this week, and we have the crumbs (and the connections) to prove it!
Monday: Coffee, Community, and Great Conversations
We kicked off the week at New Bewerley Community School for a wonderful coffee morning. Our team had the absolute pleasure of meeting Cat Barnes, the Executive SENDCo and Lead DSL.
It wasn’t just the coffee keeping us warm; the atmosphere was fantastic. There were some brilliant stands showcasing local support, and we have to give a special shout-out to the buns—they were legendary! Beyond the treats, the conversations we had with staff and parents were the real highlight.
Wednesday: A Hive of Activity at Carr Manor community hub
Mid-week, we headed over to the Leeds Local Offer drop-in at the Carr Manor Community Hub. If you’ve never been to one of these, imagine a “one-stop shop” of support, but with much better vibes.
The room was buzzing! It was wonderful to see so many parents and carers stopping by to chat with us and our friends at:
-SENDIAS
-Leeds Parent Carer Forum
-Leeds Family Hub
-Carers Leeds
Why do we do it?
Seeing all these amazing organizations in one room reminds us why we love what we do. Navigating the world of SEND can feel like a maze, but when we all get together, the path becomes a little clearer (and a lot friendlier).
Missed us this week? Don’t worry! Keep an eye on our socials to see where the Little Hiccups team will be popping up next. We’d love to see you there—especially if there are more buns involved!
