We have a number of regulars that attend our Stay n Play sessions at the moment but it turned our that none of them managed to book onto the Christmas Party. Well we couldn’t have that! And it was as if the universe heard and answered. I received an email from a Charity called Make A Smile who informed me that they were available. Of course, I jumped at the opportunity to do something special for the Stay n Play families.
The Stay n Play service was one of the first we opened up again after lock down. We recognise the importance of young children and their families having a safe place to go. So many of our current Stay n Play families have children that were born during lock down when all assistance and support was hard to come by. So not only did families have a new baby, they then found out that they had additional needs but didn’t have the much needed support that came with this.
Make a Smile are a Charity that believe that all children deserve a childhood and understand that illness or disability can make this very difficult for some children Their goal is to help these children to enjoy their childhood and they do this by bringing them magic.
We were fortunate enough to have a visit from Santa and his elf AND Elsa and Anna also visited. It was truly magical and special. From donations to Little Hiccups, we were able to source some presents for the children as well and Santa ensured every child went away happy. What was even more amazing was Santa knew sign and was able to communicate with every child.
Elsa and Anna were also just perfect and had the most beautiful outfits on. They worked very hard, playing with all the children, who in turn were enamoured by our visitors. We had one little boy following Elsa around and was so taken in by the magic. It was a delight to see. She was very obviously recognised!
Also – a massive thank you to one of the mums, who brought in the most yummy buns and biscuits for everyone to enjoy as well. It was certainly a special treat and was enjoyed by the children and adults alike.
Thank you to everyone!
