We hadn’t been bowling for a while so we approached Barnsley Bowl, which was the bowling alley that we had visited in 2019 as they were so accommodating last time. They were willing to have us back so off we went!
We had more attending this time (76 to be exact!), as more families join us, so there were old and new mixing together. What was nice was that we pretty much had all the lanes to ourselves (12 out of 16) so the majority of families in there were Little Hiccups. It meant that we could relax a little bit again. There was inevitable noise with the bowling but the kids coped with it really well. Some were not interested in the bowling and went off to explore – and that was OK too.
As for me and my family. I started off beautifully with a strike but it went rapidly downhill and by the end of the second game, my 5 year old had beaten me! We had fun though. It’s an activity for all the ages.
Barnsley Bowl also laid out a beautiful spread for us so everyone could have their dinner. And we really need to remember to take Tupperware next time as there was so much! We all went away full and there was still plenty left. A lot took some home for supper and hopefully the staff had a chance to tuck in too.
Thank you to all that came!
