There are times when we all struggle to cope and reaching out for support can feel really challenging. Sometimes we just need the time and space to work through what is happening in our lives with someone who can provide the support that we need.
I work in a relational way, where I aim to provide you with a warm, genuine, and non- judgemental space to share your feelings. I believe that our relationship is at the core of the work that we do together, so it is important that you feel comfortable and accepted. I am trained in integrative counselling which means that I am able to draw on a range of approaches to suit you as an individual.
I have a Masters in Psychotherapy and Counselling and I am registered with the BACP. I am also a parent/carer of an autistic/ADHD child and the founder of Lotus Links Peer support group for parent/carers of SEND children experiencing violent anxiety-led behaviour. In a previous role I supported autistic and learning-disabled adults with mental health issues before re-training as a counsellor where I completed my placement at Bradford Bereavement Support.
I previously struggled with my own mental health which led me to seek counselling as my role as a parent/carer left me feeling isolated, anxious and stressed. I am passionate about supporting other parent/carers with their emotional well-being.
Sessions may be held at Leeds Mencap or online.
