My name is Shamila, and you may have bumped into me at Stay n’ Play or Family Day Events. I’ve recently teamed up with Little Hiccups to highlight diversity.

I am a mum of 4: My son Ahmed (4) has grown his wings, Hawa and Noor (8) are my twin daughters & my youngest girl Hooriya (3) is diagnosed with General arterial calcification of Infancy (GACI). The doctors said she will never hit her first birthday but is beating all odds.

It’s been a journey and a half, and I have struggled but watching Hooriya fight her battles whilst being so innocent and cheerful it has given me a different outlook on life. This motivated me to become a volunteer. She is our miracle baby!

I’m looking forward to being a part of the Little Hiccups team and using my skills in event planning.

I am very sociable and looking forward to meeting you all and becoming a part of your journeys. I find happiness in helping and supporting where I can.
