Succulents, Soil, and Zero Stress: Our Team Night with the Queen of Green

Succulents, Soil, and Zero Stress: Our Team Night with the Queen of Green

Succulents, Soil, and Zero Stress: Our Team Night with the Queen of Green

March 2, 2026 Events

At Little Hiccups, our days are usually a whirlwind of supporting families, tackling paperwork, and navigating the wonderful (but busy!) world of additional needs. Last week, we decided the team needed a serious dose of “plant therapy.” We traded our laptops for trowels and invited the legendary Sharon—the self-proclaimed “crazy plant lady” from Queen of Green—over to one of our houses for an evening of getting stuck in.

No Work Allowed!

Sharon is a big believer that “people buy from people,” and she brought such a fantastic, infectious energy right into the living room. Forget boring “trust falls” or awkward icebreakers; this was just us, a few snacks, and a lot of laughs. It was the perfect excuse to catch up as friends rather than just colleagues, with a strict “no-work-talk” policy in place!

The Art of Not Killing Your Plants

Sharon kicked things off with a brilliant crash course on houseplants. She shared the actual tips and tricks that keep her greenery happy, which gave some of our “serial plant killers” a sudden, desperate hope that we might finally keep a leaf attached to a stem.

We had a quick, fascinating dive into the history of terrariums—basically, why these tiny glass ecosystems are the ultimate “easy-win” for beginners—before Sharon showed us how it’s done. Then, she basically shouted “go!” and let us loose on the supplies.

Getting Our Hands Dirty

Armed with bags of soil and a variety of succulents, the room transformed. One minute we were gossiping and laughing, and the next, there was this hilarious, focused silence as everyone tried to master the delicate art of placing a tiny plant without knocking everything else over. It turns out that digging in the dirt is incredibly therapeutic—science says plants make your life better, and after that night, we’re all inclined to agree!

It was lovely to see everyone’s personality come out in their designs. From the perfectly symmetrical to the “wild and overgrown” look, every terrarium ended up being as unique as the person who made it.

Refreshed, Grounded, and Green

We all headed home with a beautiful new miniature world in glass, a set of instructions on how not to ruin it, and—most importantly—a massive sense of connection. It was exactly what we needed to recharge our batteries.

A huge thank you to Sharon for coming to us and making the whole evening so much fun. We’ve come back to our “real” jobs feeling grounded, refreshed, and ready to keep supporting our Little Hiccups families with a whole new burst of energy!
