On Saturday 18th of March 2023, Route 62 Bikers, organised a Charity Motorbike Ride in order to raise money for charity.

Miriam Watson-Pratt, from Little Hiccups, says “We are incredibly grateful for Route 62 Bikers for approaching us and offering to fundraise. Every penny really does make a difference to our families and this was just a fantastic sight! We met them at Trackers Cafe in Bridlington and seeing all the bikes come in and knowing they were there to support Little Hiccups was just amazing”
The event was run and organised by Route 62 Bikers. They are a new group that started in March 2022 after a successful charity ride for #getbeautosloan where they managed to raise a fantastic £1541 to help fight childhood cancer. This event will be their 1st Anniversary ride. Route 62 Bikers offers fortnightly meetings, pleasure rides, and organise three charity rides a year.
The Charity Ride started at Route 62 Cafe at 8am and set off at 9am. From there they passed Strawberry Fields Cafe and Seaways before stopping for lunch in Bridlington at Tracker’s Cafe. It was here that Little Hiccups families met them to cheer them on their journey. After lunch and a refuel, the bikes then returned home via Squires Cafe before completing their journey at George Hotel. All motorbikes, learners, scooters, trikes were welcome. There were no motorways and Route 62 Bikers had bike marshals to assist in the group and on the roads.
Simon Mann from Route 62 Bikers says “We are a new biker group which I started after #getbeautosloan ride in March 2022. We have done several more charity rides and a family fun day. We have a great friendly, generous group of bikers ranging from learners to older riders. Some we knew and others we didn’t but have made some great new friends. We all enjoy riding and helping charities. Our group is self funded by our bikers making donations to relevant charities.”
The event was open to everyone. There was a £10 donation per rider and opportunity to donate to Little Hiccups on the day as well as a raffle being run on the same day. Using these methods, the fantastic Route 62 Bikers managed to fundraise an amazing £3,214.68 for Little Hiccups which is just an astounding amount!
